Heart Experts Says, sitting isn't the best choice...

Research and evidence has shown that sitting for too long can cause heart disease, in which there are chances that could lead to heart failure and subsequently lead to diabetes, even people who do exercise are also at risk, said by the American Heart Association.

The problem is that one can’t determine just how inactive people are and there’s not enough evidence yet to show just how much, or how often, you have to exercise to hinder the effects of sitting, the group said in a scientific update.

The heart association’s team of experts advised. “In the meantime, then, people should try to sit less and move more often”.
“The evidence to date is highly based on suggestion, but not conclusive, that sedentary behavior contributes to cardiovascular disease and diabetes risk,” a team led by Deborah Rohm Young, of Kaiser Permanent, Southern California wrote.

“Given the current state of the science on sedentary behavior and in the absence of sufficient data to give a quantitative guidelines, I think it is appropriate we promote the suggestion, “Sit less, move more”.

At least 30 minutes a day of moderate exercise by walking briskly rather than just strolling around the house, should be the minimum goal, they advise.
“It is wise and appropriate to promote the suggestion, “Sit less, move more”.

And it may be worthwhile to encourage desk-bound workers to get up and move a bit every hour or so to keep fit and reduce the risk of heart failure and diabetes.

Yet even this may not outweigh the effects of sitting at a computer all day, driving home in a car, and then relaxing in front of the TV or with a tablet computer.

we should not forget forget to promote the suggestion, "sit less, move more". By this means we can be sure of remaining healthy for a long time and be free of certain diseases.

“Regardless of how much physical activity someone gets, prolonged sedentary time could negatively impact the health of your heart and blood vessels,” Said by a heart expert.

“There are many important factors we don’t understand about sedentary time yet. The types of studies available identify trends but don’t prove cause and effects,” experts added.
Sitting And Other Defined Sedimentary Behaviours That Can Kill You.

They include sitting, reclining, or lying down while awake as well as reading, watching television or working on the computer. Light housework or slow, leisure walking doesn’t rise to the level of moderate or vigorous physical activity.

It’s really advisable to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, to avoid or reduce the chance of being infected of heart disease or diabetes.

Top Expensive Buildings In The World And Their Cost

The Masjid Al-Haram mosque in Mecca has topped the list of top ten most expensive buildings in the world having cost £75 billion ($100 billion) to build.

The religious building at the heart of Saudi Arabia's pilgrimage site covers 356,800sqm. It is the largest mosque in the world and includes vast outdoor and indoor spaces for prayer.

The impressive mosque aside, the top ten most expensive buildings in the world list is dominated by uber-luxe holiday resorts and casinos in America, the Middle East and South-East Asia.

Every single building mentioned in this article cost more than £1.2billion ($1.6 billion) to build.

The average London home could be worth £1 million by 2030.

Geographically diverse but united by a mixture of spectacular architecture, lavish fittings and a mind boggling number of floors, they are also some of the tallest buildings on the planet.

The list is made up of two separate buildings in Las Vegas, one in New York, two in Saudi Arabia, one in the UAE, two in China and the remaining two in Singapore.

The building which replaced the World Trade Center twin towers in New York features at number six having cost £2.8 billion ($3.6 billion) - One World Trade Center is a towering 1,776ft – the tallest building in the western hemisphere.

Afghan Forces Still Losing Ground To Taliban Despite Huge US Funding

The Afghan government lost five per cent of its territory to the Taliban in the first five months of this year, according to a US government watchdog, leaving it with a claim to less than than two thirds of the country’s districts.

Taliban fighters are estimated to hold more ground than at any time since 2001, when American forces forced them from power and emptied al-Qaeda training bases.

The report, published by the Special Inspector General for Reconstruction (Sigar), paints a bleak picture since the US ended combat operations in 2014 and passed responsibility for security to a faltering government in Kabul.

At the same time, it points out that American spending in support of the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces is now more than $68 billion (£51bn).

Yet the result is that the country seems as far from peace as ever.

This week the United Nations reported that 1,601 people had been killed in violence - a third of them children - and 3,565 were injured in the first six months of the year, making a four per cent increase over the same period in 2015.

At the same time, local forces and remaining American troops must contend with insurgents flying the Isis flag.

Five US special operations troops were wounded in combat with Isis fighters this week in eastern Afghanistan, according to the US military.
Isis is now waging a sectarian war in Afghanistan

The latest assessment, reported by Sigar, suggests insurgents have made inroads into 10 more districts so far this year.

The report said the area under Afghan government “control or influence” had decreased to 65.6 percent by the end of May from 70.5 percent near the end of January, based on data provided by US forces in Afghanistan.

The commander of US Forces in Afghanistan, General John Nicholson, said most of the areas the Taliban control were rural.

“They believed they were going to be able to seize and hold terrain, and they failed to do so,” Gen Nicholson told a Pentagon briefing via video link, according to Reuters.

The insecurity has prompted Barack Obama to freeze plans to withdraw the remaining American troops from the country. For now, 8400 will stay in Afghanistan until the end of his presidency as part of a counter-terrorism programme and as part of a Nato-led mission to train and assist local forces.

The report also spells out the challenges in other sectors. Afghanistan has one of the lowest electrification rates in the world with only one in three Afghans connected to a power grid, despite the US setting aside $3 billion for power projects since 2002.

Former NFL Player Antonio Armstrong And Wife Shot Dead By Their Teenage Son

ANTONIO AND DAWN
Former NFL player Antonio Armstrong and his wife Dawn were both shot in the early hours of Friday morning allegedly by their teenage son. The suspect called 911 at around 1.30AM, shortly after the shooting occurred. He has since then been charged as a juvenile.

According to reports, the couple was shot by their 16-year old son whose name is yet to be released by the police.

Dawn Armstrong died at the scene of the shooting, while her husband was later pronounced dead at the city’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, having suffered a gunshot wound to his head and much blood lost.

All three of the couple’s children were in the house at the time of the shooting including their 20-year-old son and a teenage daughter, neither of whom were hurt.

Police said they did not believe there was any history of domestic abuse in the family. Houston police homicide investigator Jimmy Dodson told KPRC that the Armstrongs were “an outstanding family” adding that Mr Armstrong was an associate pastor at a local church. “He’s a great guy. The mother was apparently a great mother, according to family members,” Mr Dodson said. “It was kind of the all-American family.”

The deceased, Antonio Armstrong, 42 year-old, was a college football star at Texas A&M University. He was later named an All-American in his senior season as a linebacker for the A&M Aggies. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft but fractured an ankle in training and was released later that year, signing with the Dolphins, for whom he played four games.

Paul Pogba Completes His Massive Move To Manchester United

Paul Pogba’s £112m return to Manchester United has reportedly been agreed and is likely to be confirmed by the club this weekend with the Frenchman set to earn £290,000-a-week.

The 23-year-old will move to Old Trafford as part of a world-record deal - once agent, salary and administrative fees are included - making him the most expensive football player in history.

The Dondi Gist understands that United will pay £92m for the Juventus midfielder while the Serie A giants are expected to foot the tax bill in a move which will lower the expectation on Pogba.

Pogba flies to LA for Man Utd medical after £112m deal agreed. Because of this, it has been reported that Juventus will announce the transfer fee at £84.3m, just shy of the £86m Real Madrid paid to Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale in 2013.

Furthermore, United and Juventus have also agreed upon a £20m agent fee for Mino Raiola, the Dutch super-agent, with the Italian champions paying for the additional £4m owed.

This follows the news that Pogba had flown to Los Angeles from Miami for his medical on Thursday evening. With this evaluation now believed to have been completed, the Daily Mail suggests that the 23-year-old has agreed to sign a five-year contract with United worth £290,000-a-week.

Switzerland Ambassador Confirms The Repatriation of $321 Million Abacha's Loot

EMBASSADOR ERIC MAYORAZ
The Swiss Government has said it is in the process of repatriating $321 million of looted funds of the Abacha administration.

Switzerland’s ambassador to Nigeria, Eric Mayoraz, disclosed this on the sideline of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters in Abuja on Friday.

Mayoraz said that $722 million of the looted funds had so far been repatriated adding that the signing of the MoU with Nigeria will accelerate the legal process of repatriating funds.

“The Abacha loot is a very active dossier that we are dealing with now.

We have repatriated $722 million in 2005 to Nigeria and we are now in the process of repatriating $321 million from the second batch of Abacha funds that we have collected.

Today, the signing of the MoU is for the future cases so it will allow better cooperation.

If Nigeria has some new cases to submit to Switzerland, this we will be able to do with this new MoU that we just signed today; it will accelerate the process.

It will reduce time for the process of transmitting the legal requests from Nigeria to Switzerland and vice versa because MoU we signed is not only for looted assets, it is for all criminal matters,” Eric said.

Earlier in his comments, the representative said that the signing was aimed at fostering understanding of the legal systems and improving the judicial cooperation of both parties.

He added that the signing of the MoU formalised the commitments of both countries to fighting international crime.

“There is a common ground; this is now a legal tool. If we will each do our share of the work, we will reach our goal; it will in the future be harder to profit from corruption and I am very proud of that,” he added.

In her remarks, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khadijah Abba Ibrahim said the signing of the MoU was a follow up the Nigeria-Swiss dialogue which held in December 2015.

“During that meeting, the Swiss delegation submitted a draft MoU on Legal Mutual Assistance highlighting the blocking of bank accounts, seizure of objects of illegal proceeds and handing over of illicit assets for the purpose of forfeiture or return, among others.

The dialogue was designed to facilitate cooperation on human rights issues of mutual importance between Nigeria and Switzerland,” she said.

Ibrahim added that the signing of the MoU made the “bureaucracy of repatriating money from Switzerland quicker and easier”.

Mayoraz signed the MoU on behalf of the Swiss Government while Ibrahim signed on behalf of the Federal Government.

Why Avatar Is Still Considered As A World Class Movie

Avatar is a science fiction film written and directed by James Cameron, starring Sam Worthington, Zoë Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver.

It was made by Lightstorm Entertainment and released by 20th Century Fox on December 18, 2009.

The film is set in the year 2154 on Pandora, a fictional Earth-like moon in a distant planetary system.

Humans are engaged in mining Pandora's reserves of a precious mineral known as unobtanium, while the Na'vi — the sapient and sentient race of humanoids indigenous to the moon — resist the colonists' expansion, which threatens the continued existence of the Na'vi and the Pandoran ecosystem.

The film's title refers to the remotely controlled, genetically engineered human-Na'vi bodies used by the film's human characters to interact with the indigenous population.
